Performance

Some of the most exciting things about the new Civic are the new engine choices. The base engine is a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four cylinder that generates 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque. This engine easily gets the Civic up to speed, but if you are really interested in speed the 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four is going to get you even more excited. It is rated for 174 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque that would have gotten the car the Si designation in previous generations. What is even more exciting is that both engines get the same impressive 35 combined mpg*.

Interior

Whereas the exterior of the 2016 Civic is sleek and modern, the interior of the car is more conservative compared to previous years. Instead of the double-stacked instrument panel and flashy digital readouts is a sleek and simple dashboard that is almost Scandinavian. Non-mechanical information is instead displayed on a compact liquid crystal screen. This gives the whole interior a sense of completeness and style.

Features

The new 2016 Civic takes its feature set to new heights. Even the base LX model is far from basic. Among the features that are standard are the aforementioned 5-inch liquid crystal display, Bluetooth, automated climate control and a rear view camera; all those features used to be exclusive higher trim levels and are still on many of the competitors. Meanwhile, at the top of the lineup Touring model new features including heated front and rear seats as well as the innovative HondaSensing safety suite.

Safety

The HondaSensing suite of safety technologies is an exciting new addition that makes the 2016 Civic an even safer vehicle than ever before. It incorporates adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and automatic braking in order to detect when an accident is imminent and applies the brakes to reduce or prevent a collision. The 2016 Honda Civic 2-door Coupe and 2016 Honda Civic 4-door Sedan, when equipped with Honda Sensing has been awarded the Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)**.

The Honda Civic has long been one of the top compact sedans in America, and the new 2016 Honda Civic continues this fine tradition. New performance-focused power trains, a more modern interior and exterior, a slew of new exciting features and upgrades to safety make it an even more attractive choice.
